Oh my gosh, we have found salvation. President Obama is leading us to the promised land and just look at all those jobs he created last month . . .

The Labor Department released today that the unemployment number is down to 8.3%. 

Just one problem, they didn't broadcast to the world the number of our fellow citizens that have quit looking.

Well, here's the number behind the number.

The number of people who are in the labor force and actively seeking jobs DROPPED to a 30-Year low. Yup, 1.2 MILLION people have dropped out the labor force.

That's equivilent to the entire population of Dallas, TX stopped looking for jobs.

Think about that - Dallas is the 9th largest city in this country and basically a popluation the size of Dallas, TX has thrown in the towel in finding a job in this country!

Incredible.

But apparently, this is now acceptable as great news to the President and fellow Democrats and those in the main stream media.

It's the lowest level since all the way back to 1984. Here's the chart:

The bad news is that breast cancer still exists.

The good news is that advances are being made each day and as they say at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, "we are working every minute of every day to save every life".

Men, this is where we need to step up.

Ninon de l'Enclos was an author in the 1600's. She once wrote, "A man is given a choice between loving women and understanding them."

You would think I would have this all figured out. I grew up surrounded by three very strong women: my grandmother, my mother and my sister. I've always had very strong and dynamic women friends. And I'm blessed with a wife who is very strong and independent, a quality that I've always admired. Yet, I'm still a bit fuzzy on "understanding them".

So I'm going to go with the "loving women" and guys, here is where we show our love.

News of yet another collapse in a "Green Energy" company into which President Obama dumped millions of our hard earned tax dollars.

William Yeatman writes at Global Warming.org that:

"Earlier this week, Stimulus beneficiary Evergreen Energy bit the dust. Then, Ener1, a manufacturer of batteries for electric vehicles and recipient of Stimulus largesse, filed for bankruptcy. And today, the Las Vegas Sun reports that Amonix, Inc., a manufacturer of solar panels that received $5.9 million from the Porkulus, will cut two-thirds of its workforce, about 200 employees, only seven months after opening a factory in Nevada.

I foresaw this spate of bad news last November. As I explained yesterday,

In a previous post, I compared renewable energy spending in the 2009 Stimulus to a green albatross burdening the President. I argued that Stimulus spending was inherently wasteful, because politics invariably corrupts government’s investment decisions. The result is taxpayers losses on bankrupt companies that existed only by the grace of political favoritism, a la Solyndar. I predicted the green stimulus would haunt the President, in the form of a slow drip public relations nightmare, as a litany of bad investments go belly-up in the run up to the 2012 elections.

Mr. President, are you still sure you want to"double down" on renewable energy giveaways?"

The pain of course, is not the President's but ours as we see our tax dollars wasted on investments that were ill conceived and illogical in the first place. After three years, it has become painfully apparent that Mr. Obama's appetite for spending others' money can only come to an end by sending him packing back to Chicago for good.

XL Pipeline Back on Center Stage

Senate and House Republicans are working on ways to get the XL Pipeline project back on track after President Obama bowed to pressure from his leftist nut-case, environmentalist wacko supporters in refusing to approve it.

Nebraska U.S. Senator Mike Johanns has joined 43 other Senators in support of a bill that would allow the pipeline to begin construction in the U.S. while TransCanada and the State of Nebraska work out the new route through the state and around the Sandhills.

Johanns told the Omaha World-Herald's Joseph Morton, "The president gives speeches about energy security and creating jobs, but this legislation would actually do it. Our bill approves the pipeline while allowing Nebraska and TransCanada the time they need to find the right route through our state," Johanns said. "This pipeline is not only a national priority because of the energy and jobs it will bring, it's also a Nebraska priority."

One Democrat currently has signed on to the bill and that's, no not our Democrat Senator Ben Nelson but West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, who unlike Nelson, sees the common sense logic to the pipeline.

Over in the House, Speaker Boehner has said that they will pass this legislation as well but in their case, they are looking at tying it to a piece of legislation that Obama wants such as the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act.
