you think at some point someone will get a clue in the White House . . .

The big announcement today is that the White House has a new communications strategy. Yup, apparently they have come to the conclusion that they just haven't done a good enough job explaining Obama's vision for the country . . . (stop laughing, these guys really believe this!!! I know,  I don't think they can squeeze their eyes closed any tighter)

FOXNEWS reports on it's web site:

"Dan Pfeiffer, the new White House communications director, vows to do a better job of delivering the Obama's message and says the strategy in 2010 will include a sharper focus on the president's signature issues and a faster and more aggressive response to Republican attacks."

Ok, so are they saying that President Obama wasn't out there talking last year? According to the CBSNews website, in the first year of his Presidency, Obama had:

411 speeches, comments or remarks

• this included 52 addresses or statements on health care
• he used a teleprompter 178 times

52 news conferences

158 interviews

• far more than any other President in his first year

23 town hall meetings

And yet, according to the FOXNEWS story, "Obama will spend more time reminding Americans he's the candidate who promised to change Washington's toxic ways".

These folks just refuse to open their eyes to the reality on the ground.

We HEAR you loud and clean Mr. President. It's the MESSAGE that is your problem not the amount of times we hear it. 

Until someone in the White House has the guts to tell the President that exact message, these guys will continue to flop around. Amazing . . .

Visuals of Obama/Reid/Pelosi's Drunken Spending Madness

I'm a visual person so these graphs are great . . .

Found these graphs at the blog Hillbuzz and thought they were just great as they show very clearly what Obama along with the Dems in Congress are doing to this country. 

What is also good is to see the years prior to Obama, in particular years 2008 and 2009 in the "Deficit" graph. It shows the impact of a Democrat Congress has on a budget. Yes, Bush should have veto the heck out of it.

Also look at the impact the Republican Congress had in 1994. Republicans need to keep this in mind if and when they take control of Congress and remember that they can reduce the deficit. Unfortunately, Republicans got drunk on power in the mid-2000s and forgot why they were there.

Joe Biden Shows Again That Anyone Can Be V.P.

So now it appears that our Vice President, the man a heart-beat-away from the Presidency, is accusing the National Guard's top defense attorney in New England of not knowing the legal procedures for military tribunals. 

That top defense attorney in New England just happens to be newly elected U.S. Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts and Mr. Brown is none to happy with old Joe over his charge.

POLITICO reports that on CBS' Face-The-Nation on Sunday, Biden said he doesn't "know whether the  new senator from Massachusetts understands: When you get tried in a military tribunal, you get a lawyer, too."

Brown responded:

“He’s trying to give me a lesson on military law, and I didn’t think it was appropriate,” Brown told POLITICO. “And I thought he was off base when it comes to explaining to the American people that somehow I need a lesson on whether people get attorneys — of course they get attorneys. There’s a difference as to what type of attorney they’re going to get and when they’re going to get that attorney, and how are they treated, and what rights do they, in fact, get.”

“I know the military rules and regulations and procedures from A to Z,” Brown said."

POLITICO went on to say:

"Brown pushed back Monday on one of the White House's talking points about the handling of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab: that the Bush administration handled Richard Reid, the so-called shoe bomber, in the same way.

“I’ve always felt that suspected terrorists should be tried in military tribunals and not civilian court, and as a matter of fact so do the majority of Americans,” Brown said. “The big difference is are we going to pay $1,000 an hour for a private attorney and treat him as a civilian or ordinary criminal in a criminal court, or are we going give him a military attorney who’s going to be paid as a captain, major or lieutenant colonel, and obviously go through the military tribunal process?”

Scott, don't worry. Old Joe has no credibility with the American people, just consider the following QUOTES from Joe Biden:

Nelson Interview Offers No Apology to Nebraskans

arrogance can be very blinding . . .

Last week, I wrote that it appeared that Ben Nelson had begun to try to find some redemption with Nebraskans through his support of the Republican filibuster that  helped defeat Obama's leftist nominee to the National Relations Labor Board. Well, then in Sunday's Omaha World-Herald, an article by Joseph Morton may have dug Mr. Nelson's hole even deeper than before.

In the article, Nelson is said to have been focused elsewhere thereby not understanding what he had agreed to; that he was only looking out for what's best for Nebraska and in the end he was just misunderstood. In fact, it's this last point, being misunderstood, that made my blood boil.

One of the personality flaws in politicians that just irritates people is a politician's inability to admit he or she made a mistake. It just seems that their ego will not allow them to admit that maybe, just maybe they were wrong.

Nebraska Democrat Senator Ben Nelson is the poster child for this flaw. In the Sunday article, writer Joseph Morton wrote that Nelson:

"has said the exemption [now know worldwide as Cornhusker Kickback] was misunderstood by some out of ignorance and intentionally twisted by others seeking political gain."

Translated from elitist-speak, Nelson means that those of us common folk out here on the frozen plains of Nebraska are just too gosh darn dumb and stupid to understand the nuances and sophistication of elites such as Ben Nelson as he legislates to improve the paltry lives of us ordinary folk. 

According to sources, Nelson said "the furor caught him by surprise." Really? Just how believable it that considering that for weeks, Nebraskans called, e-mailed and publicly pleaded with Nelson to not support Obamacare in the Senate. And yet, he was surprised by our reaction when he sold Nebraskans down the river for personal political gain with Obama and Reid?

But in the end, what is most disappointing with the article is what's not in it. No where in the article does Ben Nelson say to Nebraskans that he made a mistake. Not a word.

As someone once said, "Arrogance diminishes wisdom" and nowhere is that more on display each day than in Washington DC and with our U.S. Senator Ben Nelson.

For Ben Nelson, it's a phrase that will continue to hauntingly appear in the mirror into which he peers each morning until he comes clean with Nebraskans.
