Nebraska's Democrat Senator is knee deep in this Stimulus abomination . . .
As the public meetings continue next week in Nebraska, I would suggest that those attending also take the opportunity to question Ben Nelson over his role in the Stimulus/Porkulus bill that was passed in February.
Considering that Democrat Nelson was THE main player in getting the Stimulus/Porkulus bill passed, you would think that he would be touting his success to those at the public forums. Instead, Ben Nelson is running as far away from that bill as he can get and for good reason:
- Warren Buffett, a huge supporter of Obama and Nelson, warned this week that the $1.8-trillion budget deficit could fuel inflation and devalue the dollar.
- As Karl Rove wrote recently:
My bet is that if you press Nelson, he will claim no role whatsoever, but you might want to take a look at his February interview on the NBC Today Show of how important a role he played in getting this Porkulus bill passed."Mr. Obama said this about the goals of his stimulus package: "I think my initial measure of success is creating or saving four million jobs." He later explained the stimulus's $787 billion would "go directly to . . . generating three to four million new jobs." And his Council of Economic Advisors issued an official analysis showing that the unemployment rate would top out in the third quarter of this year at just over 8%. That quarter began on July 1, and unemployment is now 9.5%, up from 7.6% when Mr. Obama took office. There are 2.6 million fewer Americans working than there were on the day Mr. Obama was sworn in."
Ironically, Senator Nelson talks in his Obamacare ad running in Nebraska right now that any Healthcare plan "must keep spending under control"; "help our small businesses"; "control costs" and "most of all the plan needs to work for Nebraskans".
Okkkkkkk, so where was all this when he was crafting the Stimulus/Porkulus bill and bankrupting this country?
